This course is designed to give paramedics an awareness of common agents used to treat infections. Learning objectives: 

Review and discuss antibiotic therapy
Review and discuss Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS)
Identify which antibiotic agents are effective for specific pathogens
Differentiate between empiric treatment and lab-informed treatment of a pathogen
Recognize when a previous antibiotic has been used and the problem does not respond to the treatment (refractory)
Recognize necessary action when a previous antibiotic has been used and the problem occurs again in relatively short succession (recurrent)
Demonstrate an understanding of the role of antibiotics for the treatment of ailments in the health centre
Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of Antimicrobial Stewardship

Introductory Pediatrics for CC AMC Orientation

Mentorship course developed to support mentorship in clinical practice at AMS

This module provides a review for healthcare professionals on effective airway suctioning for emergency room patients. Participants will review fundamental techniques, understand the primary goals of suctioning, and learn to recognize key clinical indicators for intervention. Emphasis is placed on maintaining airway patency, preventing complications, and optimizing patient outcomes through evidence-based practices.
